In a previous post, I mentioned that the Gibson County Courts have suspended most judicial proceedings through April 30, 2020. The courts in most (and possibly all) surrounding counties have taken the same or similar action to that taken in Gibson County. ![]()

While attorneys are in an exempt class under the aforementioned Executive Order, my office is going to limit, as much as possible, in-person interaction. Therefore, if you have a scheduled office conference in the next few weeks, someone from my office will likely call to change your appointment to a phone conference. We also have the resources to conduct video conferences if you prefer face-to-face interaction. If your meeting requires the witnessing and/or notarizing of documentation, we will handle those meetings on a case-by-case basis. ![]()

Most government offices, like the Gibson County Prosecutor, Gibson Superior Court, and Gibson Circuit Court, are still open but operating much differently than how those offices functioned just a few weeks ago. To you, this means that your legal issue(s) can likely be addressed...but probably not in the conventional manner in which we did business prior to the crisis. ![]()

Due to the coronavirus, the Indiana Supreme Court has issued an Order suspending most judicial proceedings in Gibson County Courts through April 30, 2020. ![]()

In civil matters, there are exceptions for the following: (1) protective orders in domestic violence cases, (2) emergency child in need of services (CHINS) proceedings, and (3) other emergencies deemed "urgent" in the court's discretion. ![]()

In criminal matters, there are exceptions for the following: (1) emergency motions and petitions, (2) bond hearings, (3) initial hearings, (4) emergency hearings, and (5) any other criminal hearing or proceeding necessary to protect a defendant's Constitutional rights. ![]()

If you have a pending matter on which I represent you and you have an upcoming hearing that does not fall into one of the above exceptions, my office will be in contact with you to provide information about your new replacement hearing date and time. ![]()

Spectrum swapped out a modem in our office last Friday, which has caused us to have internet connectivity issues ever since. ![]()

We have spent a lot of time trying to remedy the problem, but it is not yet fixed. Later today, we will have the third technician in five days from Spectrum on site. ![]()

Until we get it resolved, we lose our connection about 10 to 15 times per day. Our phones are VOIP, which means that when we lose internet connectivity we cannot use the phones. It also reduces our productivity substantially as nearly EVERYTHING we do (including document creation) requires the internet. ![]()

The staff is trying to return all missed or dropped calls. We apologize for any inconvenience.
